Rapidly providing globally competitive new drugs to as many patients as possible
More-efficient and faster new drug development is essential to provide the drugs needed by patients and professionals at the front lines of the healthcare system as rapidly as possible.
Accordingly, in discovery research we will work to further bolster our drug discovery platform, shorten research periods, and increase the number of drugs in clinical trials by strengthening our research capabilities in theme discovery and compound optimization.
In domestic development, we will focus our management resources on such fields as immunology and inflammatory diseases, diabetes and lipid metabolism disorders, and hepatic diseases. In global development, in the short term we will accelerate development in Europe and the United States, centered on two products that have advanced to the development stage in the field of renal diseases. In the medium to long term, we will select other disease areas in addition to renal diseases for development and expand the number of compounds in development overseas.
Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma will continue building a system that can achieve the continued creation of new drugs that are globally competitive.
