Personal Information Protection Policies

1. Basic policy

Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation ("the Company"), in consideration of the importance of personal information protection and in order to appropriately protect personal information, strictly observes Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and has formulated and strictly observes its own policies, management rules for personal information protection, and other manuals. The Company is committed to the appropriate and safe handling of personal information.

2. Collection and use of personal information

1)Within the scope of its business activities, the Company uses appropriate methods to collect personal information for clearly defined purposes.

2)The Company uses personal information within the limits necessary for the achievement of its objectives. Personal information is not used for purposes other than the specified purposes of use without the consent of the data subject.

3. Disclosure, revision, and deletion of personal information

When a request is received from a data subject or their legally authorized representative regarding such matters as disclosure, revision, or deletion of personal information, following appropriate verification of the data subject's identity, the Company will respond without delay, within reasonable limits, in accordance with the spirit of the law.

4. Management of personal information

1)The Company has designated an employee with the responsibility for management of personal information and implements strict management to ensure there is no improper internal use. Moreover, in regard to the risk of improper external access and the risk of personal information loss, destruction, falsification, leakage, etc., the Company has implemented appropriate, reasonable safety measures in both technical and organizational areas.

2)To the extent possible, the Company strives to maintain the personal information that it stores in an accurate and up-to-date condition.

3)The Company ensures that all of its personnel understand the importance of personal information protection, and to ensure steady implementation, the Company conducts ongoing, periodic education and training.

4)The Company jointly uses personal information with third parties and outsources to subcontractors data processing and other work that involves personal information. The Company selects subcontractors that provide an adequate level of personal information protection. Contracts and other agreements items stipulate personal information protection, and at the same time, appropriate management is implemented.

5)The Company will not disclose or provide to third parties, other than those involved in the joint use and subcontracting described in section 4) above, a person's personal information without that person's consent. However, information may be disclosed or provided, in a lawful and fair manner, with or without to the consent of the person, when disclosure is made in such a way that the person cannot be identified, when it is legally required, and when it is required by public institutions, such as a court or the police.

5. Reevaluation of this personal information protection policy

The Company will review this policy in accordance with circumstances and revise it as needed. Changes will be publicized in a reasonable manner.
